Application and grade of copper and copper alloy welding rod
Compared with steel, due to the low melting point of copper and copper alloy, good electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, it is difficult to find a good welding process performance of the drug skin formula, so copper and copper alloy electrode (except white copper) welding is prone to various welding defects. With the popularity of argon arc welding, the use of manual arc welding of copper and copper alloys is decreasing. Copper and copper alloy electrode in addition to the use of pure copper welding copper, the current use of more bronze electrode to weld a variety of copper and copper alloy, copper and steel. At the same time, because copper and copper alloys have good corrosion resistance and excellent wear resistance, they are also commonly used in surfacing bearings and other parts that are subject to intermetallic friction and wear and corrosion resistance (such as seawater corrosion resistance). In addition, copper and copper alloy electrodes can also be used to weld cast iron. The welding of copper and copper alloy is more difficult than that of steel, and it is easy to produce defects such as metal oxidation, evaporation of metal elements, pores, cracks and deformation. Therefore, the following items should be paid attention to when welding: 1. The thermal expansion coefficient of copper is large, and large shrinkage stress occurs during solidification, resulting in cracks and deformation. Therefore, the assembly gap should be wide, the groove angle should be large, and multi-point temporary positioning spot welding can also be used. In order to obtain a good weld, the welded edge should be cleaned of oxides, grease and other dirt before welding. Due to the high thermal conductivity of copper and copper alloys, it must be preheated and welded with a large current. The welding operation should be carried out in a place with air circulation, or artificial ventilation should be used to prevent copper poisoning. 4. Copper and copper alloy after crystallization of coarse grain, in order to ensure the quality of welding, the application of flat head hammer on the weld after welding, in order to eliminate stress and the grain refinement.

There are three uses of copper and copper alloy welding wire: first, welding copper and copper alloy for copper and copper alloy connection; secondly, due to its good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, it is often used for surfacing parts resistant to friction between metals (such as bearing shells, low-pressure valve sealing surface) and seawater corrosion resistant workpieces (such as propellers). In addition, it is more widely used for brazing steel, cemented carbide tools, etc. Copper and copper alloy welding wire can be used for welding by argon arc welding (MIG welding), tungsten argon arc welding (TIG welding), gas welding and plasma arc welding. Tungsten argon arc welding (TIG welding) usually adopts the DC positive connection method, and the melting electrode argon arc welding (MIG welding) usually adopts the DC reverse connection method.
