Brief introduction of the history of nickel-based alloy welding materials in the application of nuclear power industry
Relevant experts predict that from this year to 2015, China's nuclear power industry will enter a new period of rapid development. This also shows that the nuclear power industry dedicated high nickel alloy welding materials also have broad prospects for development.
The quality of welding will have a profound impact on the safe operation of nuclear power plants in the future.
At the beginning, it was believed that nickel alloy containing 30% chromium had the best ability to resist stress corrosion cracking in the environment of nuclear radiation and pure water. Therefore, containing Cr30% of the INCONEL 690 alloy, and soon become the nuclear power plant in the manufacture of various anti-radiation, anti-corrosion parts of the main material.
Further research has found that there is a so-called "cold crack". More examples of such cold cracks have appeared since the 1990 s, and the tendency of root cracks at the junction of tube sheet welding is accompanied by such cracks.
It is found that the generation of "cold crack" is related to the action of oxygen, carbon and sulfur.
**,SMC has developed and launched a new synthetic welding material-INCONEL FM 52M(ERNiCrFe-7A). In order to correctly evaluate the performance of the new material, SMC and EMI researchers tested it. The test results show that the weld formed by INCONEL52M has excellent resistance to "cold crack", hot crack and root crack compared with INCONEL52. In addition, the INCONEL of 52M filler metal can greatly reduce the dross, thereby reducing the defects such as inclusions and pores.
